StageOne Christmas Show - December 5th

We're raising money for the Folkestone Winter Shelter this time and hope to raise a good amount. Stage One members have been working really hard since the summer to give you a great show.

There are some tear jerking sketches, some comedy sketches, a great drag act (written by 2 of our own guys) and some Christian acts that bring back the meaning of Christmas.

Tickets are available from various members (just private message this event and I can arrange to grey tickets to you) otherwise they are available on the door, on the evening. Please do share and spread the word!

StageOne Drama Cooperative Christmas Show

A fun packed Christmas show for the family this Christmas of 2015.
This is our third show of this year (2015) and we are welcoming back Phil Hoyles as compere and staring as Joseph!
Once again a few of our members have taken pen to paper, or fingers to keys and come up with some brilliant sketches!
The very much loved and funny Malcolm and Richard are back once again with a 'Cissie and Ada' Christmas special.
Deny gets the star role as Mary, working alongside Phil Hoyles as Joseph, for a nativity sketch like you've never seen or heard of before.
The very talented and beautiful soprano Cat Milburn will be singing about some of her favourite things and will also be teaming up with Hannah this year too.
We've got some slap stick sketches with Adam and Roger and sing along songs (if you know them!) and some thoughtful and reflective monologues.
With Tom as our fantastic director this show is one not to miss!

Venue: Folkestone Methodist church, Sandgate Road.  
Date: Saturday 5th December 2015
Time: 7pm - 9:30pm, with an interval.

StageOne interviewed on Academy FM

What's next for Stage One?? Welllllllllllllllll I'm glad you asked.....three of us were interviewed on Academy FM this morning to talk to Phil Hoyles about the show we've just finished!

StageOne Summer Show

Beauty and The Beast - Pantomime - 3rd and Last Night

We had a great matinee show with nearly a full house again. Another great audience too.

Our last performance had a fabulous audience with lots of booing the witch and cheering the heroine.
Sad its all over so quickly. A job well done to all who performed in the shows. Thanks to John for directing it and putting his imagination into it, Eileen for all her coaching, Denny and her team for all the costume making and sourcing, and finally to all who built and made props.

As the pantomime performances draw ever closer StageOne will be working on final prop preparations this week and going over things. All are welcome to lend a hand.

How to do stage makeup

Tonight at StageOne we worked on core skills and learnt how to apply basic stage makeup. This was also in preparation for StageOne's panto beauty and the beast. This workshop was led by one our cast member Hannah.

To start with we learnt how to apply foundation taking special care to cover down the neck and ears so this doesn't show under the stage lights. We then covered our face with powder to make sure there was no shine. After we worked on applying the finishing touches such as eyeshadow, mascara, eyeliner and lipgloss. This evening was a fantastic workshop and gave everyone peace of mind that stage makeup isn't difficult.

Back to Basics Workshops and Easter Preparations

For the last two Tuesdays we had perceptive sessions on stage movements and walking and developing characters from a script. Fascinating and very relevant to our panto! Find out more about our panto!

We have been preparing and reading various Holy Week and Easter scripts for our proposed Easter Road show and this will continue this subsequently.

We are aiming to get our own presentation together and put it on in various church locations. We want to be confident it will happen and we want to get some fixtures in as soon as we can.

We've got a lot of potential scripts covering a wide spectrum of the Easter story both in biblical and contemporary modes. We need you too so we can show what a talented and thoughtful group Stage 1 is! Do please be in touch with suggestions and to affirm your availability!

Its only a few short weeks to go before StageOne perform their Beauty and The Beast pantomime at Folkestone Methodist Church. Lots of work has been done since rehearsals began in October.
